The 800-volt architecture doubles Tesla’s 400 V, matches the six-figure Porsche Taycan, and is within sight of the Lucid’s industry-leading 900 V. That lets the Hyundai and Kia slurp electrons at up to a 270-kilowatt rate, when plugged into a 350-kW DC charger. But overachieving charging may be this platform’s technical coup.

The sister vehicle to the Porsche Taycan, the Audi RS e-Tron GT is the first Audi RS model to go fully-electric, beating rivals BMW M and Mercedes-AMG to market with emissions-free motoring. Charge times will also be equivalent to the Taycan, with a maximum DC charging capacity of 270kW, for a 100km of driving range in five minutes.
