Penske Truck Leasing has joined the Charging Interface Initiative ( CharIN ), a worldwide industry alliance focused on promoting Combined Charging System (CCS) as the global standard for charging electric vehicles (EVs) of all types. Penske Truck Leasing Co., Based in Berlin, Germany, it is open to all interested parties.

Now, Daimler announced the two first customers to operate the e-vehicles within their fleet: a total of 30 Freightliner eCascadia and eM2 trucks will be handed over to Penske Truck Leasing and NFI Industries in the US. Logistics specialist NFI Industries holds a fleet of 4,000 tractors and approximately 8,900 trailers in North America.

Ford also announced changes in roles for three top executives: Jim Farley (Global Markets), Joe Hinrichs (Global Operations) and Marcy Klevorn (Mobility). Peter Fleet is named group vice president and president, Asia Pacific, succeeding Dave Schoch. Fleet will lead all Ford’s operations and partnerships in Asia Pacific.

UPS is targeting a 20% improvement in fuel economy for its US package delivery fleet from 2000 to 2020.
