Out in the desert as part of Burning Man , our encampment, Snow Koan Solar, is setting up a solar photovoltaic EV Charging Station (at 7:30 and Desert) for electric scooters, golf carts, sofas and barstools. We'll also be taking Burning Man art projects off petroleum generators by switching them to solar electricity.

Think has even shown a convertible prototype. There are choices for 110 volt versus 220 volt, slow versus quick charges, and solar options. They are either glorified golf cart city cars like this one or they are only for the very wealthy like the Tesla. Massive government subsidies are upending commercial considerations.

If you charge with solar, is way less. April 10, 2009 10:06 pm Link I make, convert and drive EV’s and have for 13 yrs. The small electric will be king and batteries a valuable commodity, so valuable in fact, they will have to be wielded in to prevent theft by the Solar, Wind, Wave, Tidal, folks for their home installations!
