After spending the past year and a half converting a Porsche 914 to an electric vehicle, I decided to expand my horizons by designing an open-source electric vehicle (EV) conversion kit for a commonly used car. This project started about a month ago when I became co-chair of the Oregon Electric Vehicles Association.

Here goes (in no particular order): Things That Went Well During the Conversion The 914 AC kit from Electro Automotive is a good one. I even received a few posts from Mike Brown at Electro Automotive, the designer of the kit.

l/100 km (94 mpg US) in the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC) for plug-in hybrid models, with up to 50 km (31 miles) all-electric range. Its record lap time of 6:57 minutes can in part be attributed to the additional power provided by two electric motors. All-electric range. That corresponds to CO 2 emissions of 56 g/km.

Porsche will unveil the Panamera 4 E-Hybrid with controlled all-wheel drive and an electric range of 50 kilometers (31 miles) at the upcoming Paris Motor Show. Its record lap time of 6:57 minutes can in part be attributed to the additional power provided by two electric motors. New hybrid module and fast-shifting eight-speed PDK.

The 2022 Lincoln Corsair PHEV Grand Touring is a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle, powered by a 2.5-liter liter non-turbocharged, I4 engine and two electric motors producing a total system 266 horsepower. That number jumps to 78 MPGe, or miles per gallon equivalent, when looking at the car’s electric power. The way to Lincoln.

All three incorporate a fourth-generation, 100 kW LT PEM (Low Temperature Proton Exchange Membrane) fuel cell stack developed in-house by Volkswagen Group Research at the Volkswagen Technology Center for Electric Traction.
