Much earlier in the chapter’s history, member Otmar Ebenhoech, who would go on to create the Villa DC Motor Controller, made a strong impression on the DIY community using DC motors. Chapter member Ian Wright cofounded Tesla then later founded Wrightspeed, a company that built large hybrid trucks in San Jose. Then we disbanded.

Paradox 1 - Soot: There's an apparent emissions paradox with plug-in hybrids (PHEV): Driving longer distances on battery power means more cold starts as the internal combustion engine (ICE) stops and starts up again after the batteries deplete. Third-party and DIY converters can't muck with every system on a car.

This is especially important for electric and hybrid vehicles which can be difficult to hear at lower speeds due to their drive mechanism. When applied externally, Electronic Sound Synthesis, provides engine sound for hybrid or electric vehicles.

i also would like to see the traditional really small van like cars that deliver normally converted to electric, they never travel that far a distance, always have to come back to the distribution centre and certainly take more then 5 min ( 5 min quick charge electric) to fill with mail again before they go out.
