Department of Justice (DOJ) has backed an argument from Tesla this week during a circuit court appeal of a case with the state of Louisiana over its automotive direct sales ban rules. ” An argument date for the appeals court has not yet been set, and this is just one of many direct sales bans Tesla faces on the state level in the U.S.

The Ford Mustang Mach-E all-electric vehicle became the first EV to pass the rigorous testing standards set by the Michigan State Police to have a vehicle be considered for inclusion in its fleet. Total US sales of plug-in electric vehicles (PEVs)—battery electric and plug-in hybrid electric—have increased in recent years, but still represent only about 0.7% of new vehicle sales in 2014 so far, up from 0.6% sales and use tax. However, the incentive does not apply to the purchase of PHEVs.
