The ChangAn CA18 FlexDI Concept Engine shown at Auto China 2008. Ltd, China’s fourth largest automotive manufacturer, have entered into a joint development contract for a concept engine. If the program is successful, Changan plans to take the FlexDI concept engine to mass production in a Changan vehicle.

Australia-based Revetec is designing what it calls the Controlled Combustion Engine (CCE)—a cam-drive gasoline spark-ignited internal combustion engine that is smaller, lighter, cleaner, less expensive to manufacture and that produces higher torque due to higher mechanical transfer than equivalent conventional engines.

Scuderi Group, LLC has released the first video footage (with sound) of its split-cycle Scuderi Engine prototype running, on its own, in the laboratory test cell.
