Ford is opening an E-Transit registration site today for commercial customers ahead of order banks opening by July. To date, more than 450 commercial customers in North America, including 200 top fleets and fleet management companies, have said they’re interested in purchasing the E-Transit.

The company is also preparing to launch all-new versions of four significant vehicles in 2023: Super Duty, Ranger, Mustang and Escape. Ford electric vehicle sales are up 68%. The F-150 Lightning, the best-selling electric truck in the US, had sales of 3,600 through February, in addition to the 15,617 sales recorded in 2022.

Smith Electric Vehicles US Corporation ( SEV US ) has selected Kansas City as the site for its US assembly plant. The new assembly plant will be located at a portion of an airline overhaul base at Kansas City International (KCI) Airport and is expected to create 120 jobs by 2010. Earlier post.)

Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Smith Electric Vehicles announced that Smith will open an electric vehicle manufacturing facility in Chicago. Chicago will be Smith’s third location in the United States, joining the headquarters in Kansas City, Mo., and a manufacturing facility in New York City.

Ford Motor Company announced today that it has successfully started shipping its brand new all-electric E-Transit van to customers, working to fulfill the over 10,000 orders the automaker has to for the vehicle. The E-Transit has been a staple vehicle for many businesses and companies since its introduction in 1965.
