The grant will fulfill a key mandate of SB 1275, the Charge Ahead California Initiative, enacted last year to make clean transportation more widely available, particularly in low and moderate-income neighborhoods. The funding for the project comes from fees collected under the state’s climate change law, AB 32.

The Natural Gas Initiative has begun funding early stage, exploratory research, following a “seed grant” model used by Stanford’s Precourt Institute for Energy, one of NGI’s hosting organizations.

The Torrance Hillside Overlay district , covers most of the historic Hollywood Riviera neighborhood where the Creative Greenius lives and I can tell you that it’s a zoning law that is pure politics. He wasn’t a finance guy, thinking “I’m going to make money.” It’s expensive and my clients don’t finance. He was a geek.

Ladies and gentlemen your friendly neighborhood Greenius has hit the wall. Having seen “Inconvenient Truth” the year before I was driven to work on climate change and related environmental issues. I am dog tired. And I’m cranky – angry even – I’ve got no patience left. I need a break, right now, before I snap.

But I will admit that one thing has changed even more than the size of our electric bill and that’s the size of the solar PV system we now need to generate 100% of our electricity – because the same moves that cut our electric bill also cut the number of solar panels we need by 50% too.
