The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) announced the adoption of the Advanced Clean Truck and Fleet Reporting rules. The adoption of these rules establishes New Jersey as one of the first states to require phasing in of clean electric commercial trucks to replace diesel-powered trucks.

New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy announced the New Jersey Partnership to Plug-In, a statewide partnership to build out the necessary infrastructure to support electric vehicle ownership. The New Jersey Partnership to Plug-In will be ratified under a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).

New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy signed legislation ( S2252 ) that establishes goals and incentives for the increased use of plug-in electric vehicles (BEV and PHEV) and infrastructure in New Jersey. The bill authorizes the use of Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative funds as well. Earlier post.)

The DERA funding covers engine replacements, repowers and idle reduction technologies to clean up a variety of older diesel engines, including those in heavy-duty trucks used at ports, delivery trucks, long haul trucks, marine vessels, school buses, and even agricultural equipment. Louis Clean Cities is replacing six school busses.

Clean Vehicle Credit : This $7,500 credit was renamed, reshaped, and split in two parts: $3,750 if the vehicle’s battery is manufactured or assembled in North America. The IRA restores the 30% tax credit for an EVSE, and its cost of installation, to a maximum credit of $1000 (businesses may claim a larger amount).
