Having asked several car salesmen and visited numerous dealers myself this month, the big takeaway is that markdowns seem to be reserved on the big ticket items that aren’t selling like they used to. Perhaps due to an over-reliance on SUVs and large pickups, domestic brands tended to have the fullest dealerships.

Stellantis, which sells Jeep, Dodge, Chrysler, Fiat, Ram, Maserati and Alfa Romeo in the United States, announced on March 1, 2022 they will be releasing 25 all-new all-electric models across these brands by 2030. The first to make it to dealers will be the 2023 Jeep EV. Kia is ready to go big with its next EV–the EV9.

Per the IRS: Beginning January 1, 2023, if you buy a qualified previously owned electric vehicle (EV) or fuel cell vehicle (FCV) from a licensed dealer for $25,000 or less, you may be eligible for a previously owned clean vehicle tax credit under Internal Revenue Code Section 25E. As long as they fit certain criteria.
