With sales of vehicles equipped with the popular eight-speed transmission growing, FCA US LLC (the new name for Chrysler Group LLC) will invest an additional $266 million in its Kokomo Transmission Plant (Ind.) The investment will be used to purchase new equipment and tooling, adding more assembly capacity within KTP’s existing floor space.

All comparisons are by volume. Chrysler Group LLC reported total US sales for July 2009 of 88,900 units, a decrease of 9% year-on-year, although up 30% versus June 2009. On 27 July, Chrysler restarted production at 9 of its 11 manufacturing facilities. Chrysler PT Cruiser sales were up 24% (2,377 units) compared with July 2008.

The credit is not available for Tesla vehicles acquired after December 31, 2019 and General Motors EV purchased after March 31, 2020. Some EV advocates believe that there should not be any MSRP cap and that incentives that encourage the purchase of ANY electric vehicle regardless of price is a good thing. Effective Date: Jan 1, 2022.
