Chevrolet Malibu ECO PowerFlow screen. Chevrolet has introduced the 2013 Malibu ECO, its most fuel-efficient midsize sedan yet. The Malibu ECO features GM’s eAssist light electrification technology ( earlier post ), which is engineered to deliver an estimated 26 mpg in city driving and 38 mpg on the highway.

The 2016 Chevrolet Malibu Hybrid ( earlier post ) is EPA-rated at 46 mpg (5.11 engine in the MY 16 Chevrolet Volt EREV ( earlier post ) but is operated differently in the HEV. During accelerations below 30 to 40 mph, the system tends to operate in low range or fixed gear, depending on the vehicle speed and the power required.

GM Europe staged the world premieres of the Opel Ampera, the European cousin of the Chevrolet Volt, and the Chevrolet Spark mini-car, at the Geneva Motor Show.
