Yes, you get a plug-in hybrid setup. Speaking of warning, we can’t say we didn’t warn you that this Jeep doesn’t come cheap. But if you have the scratch and the access to juice, it makes a strong argument for itself. In other words, if for some reason the idea of a PHEV Wrangler bothers you, relax. You don’t need the 4xe.

The cord that comes with the car just might suffice for many, especially plug-in hybrids which have smaller battery packs. They’ve kept my LEAF juiced, after all. For the electric vehicle project, broadly speaking, to be successful, we need to be mindful to keep it simple and keep it cheap. This is not rocket science.

The 2024 Lexus RX 450h+ plug-in hybrid arrives on the scene with 37 miles of electric range from the Toyota RAV4 Prime’s powertrain, in a more eye-catching and softer-to-the-touch package.
