The US Senate has passed the Inflation Reduction Act, with nearly $400 billion in funding over 10 years for climate- and energy-related programs; among the myriad provisions in the 755-page bill are changes to the electric vehicle Federal tax credit of $7,500. —Chairman and CEO Henrik Fisker.

Fisker revealed its Fisker Ocean electric SUV at the Los Angeles Auto Show. The Fisker Ocean is being manufactured by Magna-Steyr at a carbon-neutral factory in Graz, Austria. The base Fisker Ocean Sport trim level is priced at $37,499, before federal and state tax credits.

All models have dual motors for four-wheel drive capability and the F-150 Lightning sells from about US$50K (minus taxes and on-road costs), which is US$10K more than it launched at. That vehicle is the Fisker Ocean SUV, which is due in 2023 (the company has been pushing hard with pre-orders for years).
