Mercedes-Benz unveiled the EQ Silver Arrow show car at Monterey Car Week in Pebble Beach. The one-seater electric EQ Silver Arrow is an homage to the successful record-breaking twelve-cylinder W 125 built by Mercedes-Benz in 1937 as a Grand Prix racing car. The show car’s body structure is made of carbon fiber.

Mercedes-Benz wins MATERIALICA awards for diesel passenger car steel pistons and CFRP struts

Mercedes-Benz received two MATERIALICA Design and Technology Awards at the MATERIALICA 2014 trade fair for materials applications, surface technology and product engineering in Munich. Daimler awards Quantum contract to develop advanced high capacity hydrogen storage systems for fuel cell vehicles

has been awarded a purchase contract from Daimler AG for ultra-light weight hydrogen storage tanks. Under this contract, Quantum will develop 10,000 psi (70 MPa) high capacity carbon fiber composite hydrogen tanks that are designed specifically for potential use in future Mercedes-Benz fuel-cell electric vehicles.
