Mercedes is launching a convertible version of the Mercedes-AMG CLE53, showcasing the manufacturer’s commitment to convertible models. Still, the only companies that seem to have retained any real focus on convertibles are the European luxury brands — with Mercedes-Benz and BMW arguably leading on that front.

It's a 2003 Mercedes-Benz CL55 AMG Lorinser. With the aftermarket Lorinser upgrades, which include a bodykit, exhaust, and engine upgrades, the car makes 605 horsepower. There's also custom audio, Zenetti wheels, and a carbon-fiber silver wood kit. Today's UCOTD is a 20-year-old sportster with relatively low miles.

and Daimler AG are forming a joint venture in Esslingen, Germany, for manufacturing and marketing of Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastics (CFRP) automobile parts. The partners plan to start supplying the mass-produced CFRP parts utilizing SCRTM for Daimler’s Mercedes-Benz passenger vehicles to be launched in 2012.

That process turned the 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLE 53 AMG from just another crossover into something that’s reasonably fun to drive – though the price tag will make eyes water. As noted, Mercedes is doing screens and haptic touch better than most, but simple still usually remains better. The interior does feel a tad cramped, though.

When at the dealer, make sure to lift the hood and get a look at the beautiful Trofeo carbon fiber red and black engine cover, which by far is the most attractive we have seen. One of the most annoying thing about cars that pretend to be a sports sedan, but really aren’t, is their faux or overpowering exhaust note.

When at the dealer, make sure to lift the hood and get a look at the beautiful Trofeo red and black engine with its carbon fiber bits, which by far is the most attractive you will see. The LED boomerang-shaped tail lights sit high above the twin, rectangular tailpipes where that wonderful exhaust notes escapes. A smooth design.

of torque produces an aggressive exhaust note with spirited acceleration. The accelerator pedal isn’t as touchy nor the crackling and popping of the exhaust note isn’t as dramatic as in Sport. T , Audi SQ5, Porsche Macan, Mercedes-Benz GLC 43, BMW X3 M40i, and sibling Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio.
