Based on several years spent elbow-deep in the Chinese electric micro-car industry , I can tell you these probably aren’t street-legal in much of the world, and may not even be street-legal in China. There’s also the issue of even getting one here from China. But safety isn’t your only problem.

Tesla’s biggest rival in China is the Wuling HongGuang Mini EV that starts at around $4,200. First delivered in July 2020, the Wuling HongGuan Mini EV is manufactured in Lizhou, Guangxi, China, and is available in two variants: one equips a 9.2 Tesla Model 3, Model Y capture silver, bronze medals in China in February.

Before Tesla, they were seen as nerdy golf carts, far from usable as “real cars.” That was the Cadillac Lyriq, a five-seat luxury crossover SUV that will go on sale in China and the US during 2022. The Hummer EV will get GM noticed by parts of the buying public that couldn’t care less about small hatchback EVs.

Duh, heres our $40K volt, buy it please? They are either glorified golf cart city cars like this one or they are only for the very wealthy like the Tesla.
