And oil only seems cheap. Since our cars and trucks use almost two-thirds of the oil we buy, the quickest way to cut oil use is to free transportation from its grip. And magically, as more electricity comes from lower-carbon fuel sources, our cars will get cleaner as they get older! Its impacts are increasingly unaffordable.

While that’s probably not going to make the folks at JC Whitney happy, it does make for cleaner cabins and keeps Ford in the loop after vehicles have been modified. I’ve certainly got mixed opinions about connected vehicles. When I’m thinking about what to buy, something like the Super Duty is typically at the very bottom of my list.

Given the cost of oil and the economic, geopolitical and ecological effects of our continued reliance on petroleum, electric transportation will be cheap. As a civilization, we have committed ourselves to electricity and we must make cleaner electricity. Electricity costs are relatively inexpensive.

Millions will plug-in their electric vehicles (EV), plug-in hybrids (PHEV) and fuel cell vehicles (FCV) at night when electricity is cheap, then plug-in during the day when energy is expensive and sell those extra electrons at a profit. Instead they could buy back electricity at peak hours from vehicle drivers. Remember its PURE D.C.
