General Motors and Powermat, a provider of wireless charging technology for mobile personal devices, announced a commercial agreement that will eliminate the need for charging cords for personal electronic devices in many future Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac products beginning mid-2012. We first developed the Volt concept car in 2006.

Competition is going to force them to produce a comfortable, usable, extended range EV for that price, and I will just have to wait. Motor Trend Magazine has extensive coverage of all cars online including road tests, free videos, buying guides, etc. o well I guess they think all yanks hate diesels.

This does not mean that you will not be able to buy that Cadillac or Corvette you have been admiring. Virtually any car, truck or bus can be made or redesigned as a long-range PHEV. This effectively means that the owner of a new PHEV can buy a new vehicle and most of its fuel for the next 20 years.

The head of Chryslers ENVI division, Lou Rhodes, told AutoblogGreen this morning that Chrysler is marketing this battery-only version of the van to commercial fleet customers who typically have shorter range requirements. General Motors Chevy Volt series PHEV, which it calls "extended range electric vehicle" (EREV), part of "E-Flex" multi-fuel platform. Plans Cadillac Converj, Opel Ampera, other versions. People wont buy a full car. But, he says, what no one yet knows is whether people would buy a plug-in flex fuel Camry or Highlander.
