Global OEM connected car system penetration is expected to increase from 11.4% While penetration in the US and Western Europe will exceed 80% by 2017, developing regions such as Latin America and Eastern Europe will also see strong increases in telematics penetration in new vehicles, largely driven by mandates in Brazil and Russia.

Volkswagen Truck & Bus is focusing on automated driving, connectivity, and alternative drive systems. 200 km on a single charge. It will be built at Volkswagen Caminhões e Ônibus in Brazil in 2020. It will soon go into series production. A test route for electric Scania trucks already exists in Sweden.

New multi-phase charging technology allows charging with 7.2 A full charge on an industrial outlet thus takes less than two-and-half hours.
