The BMW i3s was likewise a quicker version of a city-focused EV, but it’s no longer produced. And while mainstream European brands like Renault and VW are planning performance versions of their coming small EVs, they’re years away from production. Charging Like the Fiat, the Abarth is a decently quick charger.

Alfa Romeo Tonale – the Italian brand finally has a rechargeable car in its ranks in the form of the Tonale PHEV compact SUV. BMW iX1 – EV version of the X1 confirmed by 2023. BMW iX – ground-up battery electric vehicle promises to take the luxury fight to Tesla. BMW iX3 – all-electric version of the X3.

Capable of 250kW charging in ideal conditions, Volvo says the battery can charge from 10 to 80 per cent capacity in under 30 minutes. They’re not going to be cheap. Such prices comfortably eclipse the $121,990 Volvo Australia currently asks for the XC90 Recharge Ultimate PHEV.
