Volvo has received an order for 11 electric hybrid buses and 2 ABB automated electric bus fast-chargers to the city of Namur in Belgium with public transport authority and operator TEC. This is the largest order to date for the company’s electric bus system. TEC is buying the bus system as a turn-key solution.

Ballard Power Systems announced a purchase order from Van Hool, a leading bus OEM and Ballard partner headquartered in Belgium, for 10 fuel cell modules to power Van Hool A330 buses to be deployed in Emmen, the Netherlands, under the JIVE2 funding program. Van Hool A330 Fuel Cell Buses powered by Ballard.

Ballard Power Systems announced a purchase order from Van Hool, a leading bus OEM and Ballard partner headquartered in Belgium, for 20 FCveloCity-HD 85kW fuel cell modules to power buses in Groningen, the Netherlands, under the JIVE2 funding program. Ballard plans to deliver the 20 FCveloCity-HD 85kW modules in 2020.

As part of its e-mobility roadmap, MAN Truck & Bus is sending a fleet of demo e-buses to customers in five European countries this year. The fleet comprises 15 test vehicles, which will be deployed as part of everyday operations. Sales of the 18-meter electric bus started in April.

At the Brussels Motorshow in Belgium, Renault Pro+ introduced two new electric light commercial vehicles—New Kangoo Z.E. now delivers a range of 270 km (168 miles) NEDC compared with 170 km for Kangoo Z.E. 106 miles). Predictive Maintenance” involves issuing real-time information on the vehicle’s condition.

The shift-by-wire single speed transmission drives all four wheels 0-60 miles per hour in about 4.3 The EPA rates the C40 Recharge Twin AWD at 226 all-electric miles (AER) with an efficiency of 39 kWh per 100 miles. In the 310 total miles we drove through Southern California we averaged 30.6 kWh per 100 miles.
