Oil is the alternative. Are we going to burn more oil, natural gas, or (gasp) coal to produce it? The most common methods involve burning natural gas, oil or coal to power the engines to generate electricity. Alternative is no longer an alternative. Renewable is the energy equations equalizer for the non Muslim world.
