Sales of battery electric vehicles continue to increase, but at a significantly slower rate than in earlier years. Around 64,000 pure battery-electric vehicles were registered in 2016, a 13% increase compared to sales of 57,000 in 2015. The least fuel-efficient cars continue to be bought in Estonia (134 g CO 2 /km).

This marks the second time MMC has supplied vehicles under the Green Investment Scheme, the first being to deliver of 507 units of the i-MiEV all-new electric vehicle to the Government of Estonia starting in October 2011. In Series Hybrid Mode the gasoline engine operates as a generator supplying electricity to the electric motors.
