This survey was conducted online within the United States by The Harris Poll on behalf of Volvo from October 11-17, 2018, among 1,510 U.S. This online survey is not based on a probability sample and therefore no estimate of theoretical sampling error can be calculated. That said, misperceptions regarding the cost of EVs are common.

Lifetime service costs are lower for a vehicle that is mainly electric. At $3 for a gallon of gas, driving a non-hybrid car costs 8-20 cents/mile (depending on MPG).
