We have closed most of the coal plants and several the aging nuclear plants are moving offline as they close for repair of reach end of life. Why, simple the US embraced Fracking to produce bountifully supplies of cheap gas. Needs – Solar and Battery. These have no replacements planned to open in the short and medium term.

If you want it to perform like a sports car instead of a slug in a sportscars skin, youre going to need that 10k for the ac drive system alone, and then maybe another 15k for a lithium battery pack. April 10, 2009 10:09 am Link It amazes me that in the vast debate about electric cars world wide including here in Norway, no one ever mention the fact that the batteries in such cars need replacement in no more than five years. So imagine a million electric cars on US roads which all need to change these batteries in say 2015.
