ton model of the final design of the autonomous and fully electric container vessel Yara Birkeland ( earlier post ) was revealed as testing commenced at SINTEF Ocean’s 80-meter test tank facility in Trondheim. The vessel will be delivered and begin first tests and operations early 2019, and conduct fully autonomous operations in 2020.

The Scandlines zero-emission ferry project, announced in November 2021 and which will result in the world’s largest electric-powered hybrid ferry, will run on an advanced 10 MWh lithium-ion battery energy storage system (BESS) from Leclanché. In fully electric mode, crossing time is 70 minutes and the ferry is emission-free.

Little seems developed in any wide commercial sense and certainly not to the extent of the pure electric car. So, fuel cell cars have some of the advantages of pure fully electric cars. In essence the FCEV is firstly an electric car with a hydrogen fuel cell range extender added. The reasons are numerous. .
