At the EICMA event, a fully electric motorcycle showing a revolutionary power train technology concept that makes use of ultracapacitors will be unveiled to the public. The event will be in Milan, Italy. At EICMA 2021 (Booth B79 – Pavilion 18), NAWA will present the next generation of this concept.

Kia Motors America (KMA) unveiled the Trail’ster e-AWD concept at the 2015 Chicago Auto Show. The Trail’ster, based on Kia’s Soul urban passenger vehicle, is primarily powered by a 1.6-liter The Trail’ster’s electric motor acts as a generator to recover kinetic energy and recharge the battery when the vehicle is braking or coasting.

Automotive supplier KSPG Automotive (formerly Kolbenschmidt Pierburg), a subsidiary of Rheinmetall AG, and FEV have jointly developed a concept for a compact, 30 kW range extender for battery-electric vehicles. The automobile can thus be delivered with or without a range extender and allows for a modular design concept.

During a presentation of Volkswagen's new electric car program entitled "Fleet Test: Electric Drive Vehicles," Winterkorn explained that TwinDrive can power a vehicle solely on electricity for up to 50 kilometers (31 miles) and can be plugged into to existing power outlets for recharging.

As well as providing a power boost to assist the gasoline engine during acceleration, the electric motor can also power the vehicle by itself. lithium-ion battery powering the motor is centrally mounted underneath the floor of the vehicle. The occupant protection concept is rounded off by standard safety equipment.

This is the opposite of the approach taken by Toyota with its Mirai fuel cell vehicle ( earlier post ) and Honda with its new FCV Concept ( earlier post ). Fuel cell technology is running in comepetition with long-range battery electric vehicles. The h-tron concept car shows that we have also mastered fuel cell technology.
