The Paris Agreement reflected an unprecedented international determination to act on climate. To meet the climate goals set in the Paris Agreement and keep the global temperature rise to below 2 degrees, the CO 2 emission intensity of the global economy would need to be reduced by 85% in 35 years. Coal use would decline most rapidly.

BYD CEO Wang Chuan-Fu figured out how to make cheaper batteries than the Japanese by replacing machines with migrant workers. By about 2000, BYD had become one of the worlds largest manufacturers of cellphone batteries.
