Mitsubishi could be the first with cars for sale if the UK distributor has its way. The first cars will utilize NiMH batteries, as do the Toyota test platform Plug-in Priuses at the University of California. From where I sit (in the driver's seat of a NiMH powered Toyota RAV4 EV) this seems eminently practical.

The i-MiEV is based on Mitsubishis i line of micro-cars which are quite popular in Japan. The four door i-Miev is only 11ft 1inches, 4ft 10inches wide, and 5ft 3inches tall but feels much roomier inside. Inside the car looks like a standard i-car but the gauges have very different meanings.

The result of the Lotus and Harman International technology collaboration will be to generate Active Noise Control system solutions available to vehicle manufacturers in all worldwide markets.
