Kia has unveiled its EV3 compact SUV ahead of a confirmed Australian arrival in 2025. That includes a WLTP range up to 600km, V2L charging, a near-30-inch widescreen display, AI assistant, OTA updates, streaming services, advanced driver aids and the ability to personalise the dash and infotainment through the Kia Connect Store.

The same car with a bigger 64.8kWh battery, called the Kona Electric Extended Range, is $58,000, which is $2500 cheaper than the model it replaces, too. Development work on these continues; Audi, for example, is refining MLB evo—the second-generation of MLB and the foundation for the battery-electric e-tron quattro SUV due out in 2018. The charging will improve. There is no more range anxiety, the cost point is down, we will be able to serve the new customer demand.

GM is producing 2 vehicles a day with the goal of having a total of 76 vehicles available by the end of the summer; these vehicles will be used for validation testing ranging from fit and finish reviews, to durability testing to eventual crash testing.
