Fuel cell technology is on the verge of becoming a practical alternative to burning gasoline. Fuel cell technology is also being used to power transit buses and forklifts, and to produce electricity for industrial uses. When these stations are constructed the amount of hydrogen available to the public will be double.

However, widespread commercial use of electric drive on long-haul and heavy-duty routes is not yet feasible. Today, the term “alternative” is used for all fuels that are not a part of the fossil fuel group—diesel, gasoline, heavy oil and kerosene. Our aim is to achieve zero-emission logistics by 2050.

These projects put more than 9,000 alternative fuel and energy-efficient light-, medium- and heavy-duty vehicles on the road, and establish 542 refueling locations across the country. The vehicles and infrastructure being funded include the use of natural and renewable gas, propane, ethanol, biodiesel, electricity, and hybrid technologies.
