Launch of NASA’s Orbiting Carbon Observatory Fails

NASA’s Orbiting Carbon Observatory satellite ( earlier post ) failed to reach orbit after its 4:55 a.m. The Orbiting Carbon Observatory (OCO) was designed to map geographic distribution and seasonal variations of Earth’s natural and anthropogenic carbon sinks and sources at a resolution of approximately one square mile per measurement.
