Hyundai unveiled the redesigned 2018 Sonata Hybrid and Plug-in Hybrid models at the Chicago Auto Show. Sonata Hybrid SE has preliminary internal estimates of 39 mpg (6.03 l/100 km) in the city, 45 mpg (5.22 l/100 km) on the highway and 42 mpg (5.6 Hybrid system net power is 193 horsepower at 6,000 rpm.

At the Chicago Auto Show, Hyundai introduced its new 2020 Sonata Hybrid, featuring up to 686 miles of driving range and an EPA-estimated 52 mpg combined fuel economy rating on the Blue trim. This system recharges the 12-volt and hybrid battery while preventing unnecessary battery discharge when the car is off.

Kia unveiled three major hybrid offerings at the Chicago Auto Show: the 2017 Niro Hybrid Utility Vehicle; the new Optima Hybrid; and the new Optima Plug-in Hybrid. Niro is targeting a combined fuel efficiency rating of 50 mpg (4.7 Optima Hybrid.

" President Obamas auto task force doesnt see it that way. It offers 18 models that deliver 30 mpg or more. Thats short-sighted.
