They could have been better, but after lobbying from the auto and oil industries, those regulations were softened compared to the original proposal. This includes more efficient gas engines, more hybrids, a heavy EV mix, use of hydrogen vehicles, smaller vehicles, and so on. customers thousands and thousands of dollars per car.

The four-door sedan will deliver 40 miles on a charge; a small gasoline engine will recharge the battery as it approaches depletion, extending its range by as much as 200 miles. Volt like hybrids are the intermediate future between hydrogen or fast charging electric cars. The car is expected to cost around $40,000.
