The team developed two process models for CUGP mainly producing light olefins and Fischer–Tropsch (F–T) synthetic oils with Aspen Plus software. It was found that increased process efficiency and significantly reduced CO 2 emission could be realized by recycling some unreacted syngas to reforming and F?T T synthesis units.

This design utilizes five distillation columns to separate the remaining gas, LPG, light gasoline, and heavy gasoline. The light gasoline continues without further treatment. This stream would then be merged with the light gasoline. The remaining gas is sent to the fuel combustor. The two product streams are LPG and gasoline.
