The battery modules and energy storage system package is four times larger than on any electric/hybrid ship currently operating. The vessel will operate between Argentina and Uruguay. The uniquely designed vessel will be fully battery powered, with e-motor driven Wärtsilä waterjets as the main propulsors.

Capstone Turbine Corporation has initiated a demonstration project with TATSA, an Argentine bus manufacturer, that will use a Capstone series hybrid electric drive system featuring a C65 microturbine ( earlier post ) as the range extender for a transit bus. Beyond the recently announced key asset in Western Australia secured through Liontown Resources, Ford also has signed a non-binding MOU with Rio Tinto, exploring a significant lithium off-take agreement from its Rincon project in Argentina. Ford also continues working to localize processing of key battery materials in North America.
