T he Plug in 2008 National PHEV Conference in San Jose by most accounts was a big success. Here's one of the announcements that came out of the conference : EPRI, GM, 34 Utilities Collaborate to Advance Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles PALO ALTO, Calif. Although consumer tax credits for PHEVs enjoyed bipartisan support in both houses of Congress, concerns over other tax portions of the energy bill resulted in the entire tax package being removed from the original bill. The bill, HR 5351 includes a credit for plug-in hybrid electric vehicles.

Alpha Ace Coupe – imagine a full-sized Aussie Racing Car but with an electric motor instead of a bike engine. BMW iX electric SUV is due in Australia late in 2021. Think iX3, but smaller.

Obama should take extraordinary steps to empower the electric upstarts to prove their mettle. nk, Fisker and Aptera, for example, would get cars on the road and allow the plug-in project the chance to more quickly advance to economic viability without the legacy burdens carried by the majors.
