And thanks to the efforts of Plug In America, you can still claim a tax credit for your investment in home charging. It’s also grid-friendly. A smart strategy would forsee ubiquitous free 120V outlets and a relatively small number of monetized Level 2 charge stations for visitors and employees with a need for more juice.

If they contract with Plug In America to consult, we’d sell a million of them:~). The Volt contract is important because the batteries are the most important element of the car and their reliability will make or break GM’s gamble to be the first company to put a plug-in — or grid-rechargeable — hybrid into the market.

Vehicle to Grid (V2G) technology is a bi-directional electric grid interface that allows a plug-in to take energy from the grid or put it back on the grid. Smart Grid City will use a realtime high-speed two-way communication throughout the distribution grid. Smart meters and substations will be integral.

This car was bought in or designed for america! Once weve consolidated everything to depend on the grid, we can clean up everything by cleaning up the grid.
