The European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA), Hydrogen Europe and the International Road Transport Union (IRU) are jointly calling on European policy makers to ramp up investments in EU-wide hydrogen refueling infrastructure for fuel cell electric vehicles. IRU is the world road transport organization.

Hyundai began leasing its first series production fuel cell electric vehicle at select dealerships in Southern California. It is especially important to note that several of the companies—Nissan, Ford, Volkswagen and BMW—have previously focused primarily on battery-electric vehicles and other alternative fuels.

Despite the recent progress, a number of myths around the use, power efficiency and cost of fuel cells still exist. With global leading car OEMs such as Toyota, Honda, Hyundai all recently announcing their intentions to make their FCEVs available to the consumer, there is no doubt that the OEMs have done their homework.
