Fuel consumption for all NA-SI vehicles still accounts for almost 50% of total fleet fuel consumption in 2040 even though they represent only about 38% of the fleet. Diesel remains a small fraction. Relaxing the MON requirement gives refineries more processing flexibility, allowing them to produce more high-octane fuel.
