A far cry from the affordable battery electric vehicles led by the Atto 3 with which BYD has established in Australia, the plug-in hybrid Yangwang’s Chinese price converts to about $240,000 here. While Chinese media report a pure BEV U8 is coming as soon as 2024, the launch U8 powertrain combines a 2.0-litre 2023 Yangwang U8.

In an attempt to clear up confusion over where the current Volvo C40 Recharge and Volvo XC40 Recharge sits in its growing EV line-up both will be renamed for 2024. From now on the Volvo XC40 Recharge will go by the Volvo EX40 name, while the more rakish C40 Recharge will be rebadged as the EC40. 2024 Volvo EC40.

The secret is that Polestar is an electric performance brand from Volvo and its Chinese owner, Geely Holding. A BMW owner, he is a possible future Polestar buyer, which made this a demo ride and reinforced my positive impressions.
