Arbor Renewable Gas evaluating West Baton Rouge for $800M renewable gasoline and green hydrogen plant

Operating as Magnolia Renewable Fuels LLC, the new facility would produce renewable gasoline from wood waste biomass sourced from Louisiana and Mississippi timber operations. Louisiana Economic Development estimates the project would also support at least 110 indirect jobs, for a total of 142 new jobs in Louisiana’s Capital Region.

Report: Plastics industry will release more GHGs than coal plants in the US by 2030

The US plastics industry reported releasing 114 million tons of greenhouse gases nationwide in 2020; an increase of 10 million tons over 2019. Three others are planned in Ohio, Louisiana, and Texas. Construction is currently underway on another 12 plastics facilities, and 15 more are planned.
