California 2019 crude average carbon intensity up

The 2019 CI is up from 2018 (12.35) and from 2017 (11.93); volume delivered to California refineries was down, however: 584,313,143 barrels in 2019, versus 624,127,435 in 2018 and 621,246,732 in 2017. California gets the largest portion of its crude from itself: 155,785,058 barrels in 2019, or 27% of the total. CI (gCO 2 e/MJ).

Bogotá orders 379 electric buses from BYD

This order also sees BYD again smashing the record for the largest electric bus order in the Americas, following its delivery of 183 buses to Chile during August 2019. It is estimated that in its first year of operation, this fleet will cancel out 21,900 tons of CO 2 and 526 kilograms of PM 2.5.

In 2020, although the volume of crude supplied to refineries dropped to 476,730,992 barrels from 584,313,143 the year before, the average carbon intensity (CI) rose to 13.41 gCO 2 e/MJ from 12.52 The second-largest portion came from Alaska: 91,118,748 barrels, or 19%.
