Mazda wants the CX-50 to be seen as its first-ever adventure-oriented SUV. Fuel economy is EPA rated at 23/29/25 mpg for the turbocharged CX-50.

This past week in Santa Barbara, Mazda invited the automotive media to drive the CX-50 on the highway, twisty mountain roads and then off-road to experience soft sand, steep climbs and descents. Mazda adds another SUV. All Mazda SUVs will now come only with all-wheel drive (AWD).

Our takeaway is when the Bronco Sport is loaded with a two adults and all their gear, 30 mpg will be realistic on the highway.
