Lightning Systems, a global developer of zero-emissions solutions for commercial fleets, announced the LightningElectric Ford Transit product line ( earlier post ) will expand to include a 150-mile range version, adding to the 50-mile and 100-mile versions. Ford QVM dealers and upfitters perform installations and service.

The LightningElectric battery conversion package is available for Ford Transit as part of Ford Motor Company’s eQVM program. Conversions and service are performed by Ford QVM-certified upfitters and dealers around the world. Deliveries will begin in early 2018. Electric Range 50 miles 100 miles.

Lightning Systems, a global developer of efficiency and emissions improvement solutions for fleets, announced that it is on schedule for March deliveries of its new battery-electric LightningElectric conversion system for Ford Transit. Ford’s vehicle warranty covers the base chassis for vehicles with the Lightning conversions.

With new thermally-managed NMC battery chemistry, the new Generation 2 all-electric powertrain has 20% longer range than Gen 1, with battery configuration options for 60 or 120-mile ranges (based on certified Dynamometer testing). hours (120-mile range) with Lightning’s DC fast charging option (using standard CCS-Combo charging).

Lightning eMotors says that its products are complementary to Ford’s announced 2022 E-Transit, which will be a battery-electric Class 2 cargo/cab/chassis van with an estimated 126 miles of range. The Lightning Electric Transit Van is available for order now, with deliveries starting in the second quarter of 2021.

The new Lightning Electric models for the Ford E-450 will be available in 14,500-pound gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) with an all-electric range of 110 miles. Orders are being accepted immediately, and delivery of the new products will begin by the end of 2018. Torque is rated at 700 N·m (516 lb-ft).
