CROZZ concept vehicle ( earlier post ), which is making its North American debut at the 2017 Los Angeles Auto Show. The I.D.CROZZ combines an 83 kWh lithium-ion battery pack with a pair of electric motors, one on each axle. The front motor generates 101 horsepower and the rear 201 hp, for a combined system output of 302 hp.

At the Auto Shanghai 2017 show, Volkswagen is revealing the I.D. BUZZ in Detroit in 2017 ( earlier post ). BUZZ in Detroit in 2017 ( earlier post ). Using a 150 kW (DC) fast charger, the high-performance battery can be 80% recharged within 30 minutes. The two electric motors directly drive their respective axles.

BMW’s announcement in 2017 that it had decided to make EV and plug-in variants of every single BMW and MINI model was met with some skepticism. This plug-in hybrid uses a powerful combustion engine that works in tandem with an electric motor to achieve efficient driving and all the performance you expect from a BMW. But guess what?

And in a true smart grid, electric cars will not only be able to draw on electricity to run their motors, they will also be able to do the reverse: send electricity stored in their batteries back into the grid when it is needed. Battery recharging would typically take two to four hours, he said.
