At the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) next week, China-based GAC Motor will unveil three new vehicles: a new SUV, a hybrid crossover concept car, and an elecric vehicle developed internally. GAC is the only Chinese automaker to exhibit at the 2017 NAIAS and is also the first Chinese automaker to present on the main show floor.

DiDi started partnership programs with automakers and fleet operators in 2016, and launched the DiDi Auto Alliance, an industry-chain partnership network in April 2018. The DiDi Smart Transportation Brain concept has been adopted by more than 20 Chinese cities and is guided by three principal features: Discover, Decide and Deploy.

Nissan “Surf-Out” EV pickup concept (Source: Nissan) The model will likely arrive in the US as an electric version of Nissan’s best-selling pickup, the Frontier. It could also expand Mitsubishi’s lineup with the midsize EV pickup buyers and dealers are asking for. Nissan and Mitsubishi have been intertwined since 2016.

Audi is introducing two new models with plug-in hybrid drive systems to the market in China in 2016, both of which are having their world premier at Auto Shanghai 2015: the Audi Q7 e-tron 2.0 TFSI quattro (offered on the Chinese market). TFSI quattro will be available from dealers in the three specified markets starting in 2016.

Starting in 2016, this will be followed by two models developed specially for the Chinese market: These are the Audi A6 ( earlier post ) and a new mid-size limousine from the Volkswagen brand, both plug-in hybrids which are being developed together with the joint venture partners FAW Volkswagen and Shanghai Volkswagen and will be produced locally.

At Bauma China 2016, Asia’s biggest trade fair for construction equipment, DEUTZ and its Chinese joint venture, DEUTZ (Dalian) Engine (DDE) unveiled new TCD 9.0 The plan is for DEUTZ’s Chinese joint venture to manufacture the TCD 9.0 will also be manufactured in China by DEUTZ’s Chinese joint venture DEUTZ (Dalian) Engine.
