California-based US Hybrid Corporation has been awarded a contract by the Hawaii Center for Advanced Transportation Technologies (HCATT) for the design, integration and delivery of its H 2 Ride Fuel Cell Plug-In Shuttle Bus for operation by the County of Hawaii Mass Transit Agency’s (MTA) HELE-ON Big Island bus service. Neste Oil, the world’s largest producer of renewable diesel (NExBTL), has signed a contingent commercial off-take agreement with Cellana, an algae biomass developer based in the United States. The agreement will enable Neste Oil to purchase Cellana’s algae oil for use as a feedstock in the future for producing renewable fuel.

The PEM electrolyzer will be partially powered by renewable energy sources and is expected to be in operation in late summer or early Fall. The electrolyzer in Hamburg will use the same C-Series electrolyzer platform as the SunHydro commercial fueling station in Wallingford, Connecticut, which opened in October 2010.
